Cliffside’s 2007 foals.

On Feb. 16 Madoc Gwyneth had a beautiful, big-boned dun filly by Lidgett Meredith LOM. Madoc Alis (pending) displays wonderful movement with plenty of cob type and a real “look-at-me” attitude. She will be owned by Mary Alice Williams of Madoc Farm upon weaning.

Our many time national champion mare, Madoc Artistry Rose LOM, had her dun colt by Meredith on March 18. Cliffside Academy Award (pending) is a big colt who has inherited his mother’s superb movement. “Oscar” will mature around 14.2-15hh and will excel in the performance ring, whether at WPCSA shows or on outside circuits. Artistry Rose will be brought back out onto the CDE circuit after weaning to pursue her driving career.

Lady Jonquil gave us another one of her lovely bay “J” cobs on April 14th. Cliffside Jolie (pending) is a lovely bay filly with plenty of type and wonderful cob movement. She will excel in the halter ring as her sister Cliffside Jubilee has as well as in the performance ring.

Spring Shows:

We started off our 2007 show season at the Pin Oak Charity Horse Show in Katy, Texas. Lidgett Meredith (“Max”) continued his winning streak in the cob hunter division claiming the championship. We brought our three-year-old Section A gelding Dandardel Tulsa Playtime (“Timmy”) for his first show. He could not have been a better pony winning ribbons in the pleasure driving and western pleasure divisions and claiming reserve champion of the adult English pleasure division! Quite an accomplishment for a green three year old! Timmy can be seen on our Sales Page. Our next outing was at the Gulf Coast Welsh Pony Show in Katy in April. Max was Grand Champion Cob under both judges and swept the hunter, English and western pleasure divisions for the championships. He also won the Ridden Cob class. We were thrilled when his beautiful two-year-old filly Cliffside Jubilee was Champion Junior Filly under both judges as well. Our Section A filly Cliffside Madeline earned seconds in her filly class. Timmy performed wonderfully again winning reserve champion in the adult western pleasure division, with ribbons in English pleasure and pleasure driving. Memorial Day weekend found us at the double performance Tulsa Area Pony Show. Cliffside Jubilee again wowed the judges winning her class under both and earning Reserve Grand Champion Cob under Judge Tracy Dopko of Canada. Cliffside Madeline won second and third in a large filly class and Heavenly Hope From Above won second and fourth in the same class. Max earned another championship in the cob English and western pleasure divisions and reserve in the hunter division. Max also won the Ridden Cob class and on the second day of showing he again swept the English and western pleasure divisions.

Dardardel Tulsa Playtime went to his first driving only show in May, the North Texas Whip’s Spring Fling, where he placed second in the dressage and cones classes of his preliminary pony division.

Congratulations to the Franco family of Massachusetts on their purchase of Madoc Ringmaster, who will be shown under the name Grand Slam.

The year end points are in, and we are happy to announce that both Lidgett Meredith(Max) and Madoc Artistry Rose (Arti) have won their Individual Legion of Merit Awards from the Welsh Pony and Cob Society of America Inc. These awards are based on lifetime points in halter and performance classes in recognized shows. Max also finished 2006 as the WPCSA National Champion Cob Hunter and with National Reserve Championships in Ridden Cob and Western Pleasure. He also was the USEF’s Horse of the Year National Champion in Welsh Pleasure C/D. Arti finished her last few halter points for her LOM at a single show in 2006. She is currently in foal to Max for 2007, but will be returning to the show ring this fall.

On February 16, we welcomed our first foal of the season, a lovely palomino filly by Max out of Madoc Gwyneth. Although in foal, Gwyneth had a successful, albeit short 2006 show season, finishing the year as the WPCSA’s National Reserve Champion Cob Hunter. In addition to foals out of Gwyneth and Arti, we are expecting a third D from Lady Jonquil.

Madoc Savannah Rose joined our herd in September.She is a 2006 full sister to Madoc Artistry Rose and the first filly born to the great performance producers *Kentchurch Chime LOM LOM and Princess Rosina LOM since Arti. She is a big handsome bay with lovely floating movement and is destined for a performance career like her brothers and sisters, all carrying the name of a rose, who have excelled in dressage, combined training, and combined driving. Other additions to our herd are Section A fillies, Heavenly Hope from Above and Cliffside Madeline
